Avalanche:
D1-D4 mixed

Blizzard:
D5-D6 mixed

What

  • Friendly 1-day indoor volleyball tournament organized by DCPVL

  • 2 competitive divisions:

    • Avalanche Division

      • All teams should consist of 2 players from each division (D1-D2-D3-D4), or equivalent

      • If unable, may have a player from a lower division (e.g. 1 x D1 and 3 x D2)

      • At least one player from each division must be on the court at all times

    • Blizzard Division

      • All teams should consist of 4 players from each division (D5-D6), or equivalent

      • If unable, may have a player from a lower division (e.g. 3 x D5 and 5 x D6)

      • Three players from each division must be on the court at all times

  • All Divisions have an 8-team cap, which may be adjusted closer to the tournament.

  • Pool Play followed by single elimination Playoffs (best 2 out of 3 sets)

Who

  • Anyone can participate, even new players to DCPVL

  • Must have a TeamArrange account. 

  • Review session details in TeamArrange for additional requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old on the day of the tournament‍

Registration & Matchmaker

  • Captains must register and pay the full team fee through TeamArrange

  • Captains must then add players to their roster

  • Players can indicate their interest in participating using TeamArrange’s Player Connector 

  • Check out the session details in TeamArrange

Pool Play

  • Schedule will be posted closer to the tournament, in the TeamArrange session

    • Matches start at 9am. Gym opens at 8am for check-in.

  • Pool play consists of 4 matches

  • Each match is 2 sets to 25, win by 2 with a cap at 27, no ties

  • Matches are capped at 40 minutes (5 min. warm-up and 35 min. play)

Playoffs

  • Single elimination bracket, where matches are best 2 of 3 sets

  • First 2 sets are to 25, win by 2 with a cap at 27. Deciding 3rd set (if needed) is to 15, win by 2, no cap.

  • Matches have a 5 min. warm-up and no time limit to complete the match

  • Playoffs begin immediately after pool play, and estimated to end around 5pm
